Spending time

I'm not exactly a very busy person. In fact, I have very little to accomplish these days. Hence, I occupy myself with a myriad of frivolous, nigh-unconstructive activities, all of which promise not to improve any of the skills I already have... Save for, maybe, a vocabulary of newly learnt words I'll probably never use (or remember, for that matter), the development of an irritating sarcastic wit, as well as better Meat Hooking skills.

Firstly, words such as sepulchre and suttee came from The Da Vinci Code and Around the World in Eighty Days, both of which helped alleviate the boredom encountered in my stints at Genting. Yup, I know, I'm a little too late to hop onto the Dan Brown bandwagon. I didn't find the book to be spectacular enough to live up to the hype, though. Personally, I'd rather go Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams any day, but hats off anyway to Brown for the intriguing conspiracies. On the other hand, Jules Verne is just cool.

The sarcasm stems from two different TV shows I've been following the past month or so ('following' may not actually be the best choice of word here, because I got them off the net and watched the episodes back to back). The first is House, starring the very affable Brit Hugh Laurie as the very abrasive American Dr Gregory House. Those who aren't familiar with his brand of rapid-fire wit can draw conclusions from the following excerpt (creative memory applied to original script):

Med. Student, when she realises that House wasn't paying attention: You're reading a comic book...
House: And you're wearing a revealing top which draws attention to your ample bosom.
Med. Student: What?
House: Oh, I thought we were playing a game of "Let's state the obvious". I'm competitive by nature.

The other TV show is the very familiar Friends. You know, the one with Chandler? The funny, sarcastic one...? I was up to Season 5, and then my hard drive decided to run out of space on me.

'Nuff said. I also watch Lost, but Sawyer can't hold a candle to either House or Chandler in that department.

Last and absolutely the least interesting is DotA. Pudge uses Meat Hook. I got better at Pudge. So there you go.

Besides these three, there are other things to attend to, such as continuing my driving classes, beginning Mandarin ones, and RECEIVING MY A-LEVELS RESULTS. In about 10 hours, I'll be facing my very own 'moment of truth' moment... This post is sort of a precursor to the one where I'll announce my achievements to anyone who bothered enough to check on this page. Until then, it's gonna be 10 hours of immense trepidation. Of which I will spend in bed, dreaming. For now, I'm just hoping that nightmares evade me.

Wish me luck~
